When using Tiptapp to pick up and drop off recycling, it is important to be aware that there may be different rules and possible fees at different recycling centers. Tiptapp follow the local rules and guidelines which may vary depending on the recycling centre, land or area. Some sites may require payment for certain types of waste or a special entry card. We recommend that you check your local recycling center's website for specific information.

Recycling and company-registered vehicles

In Tiptapp, you act as a private individual and can often leave waste free of charge in the regions where you collect the waste. If your vehicle is a light truck and registered to a company, you may have to pay for your visit to the recycling center. It is your responsibility to follow and inform yourself about local rules.

When using Tiptapp to drop off materials at recycling centers, it is important to know that fees may apply depending on the type of vehicle you use. Several major operators of recycling centers use the following criteria to determine whether a visitor represents a company:

  • Cars and trailers with company plates (that are not company cars) are usually charged a fee

  • Cars, minibuses and pick-ups that are used for business purposes will also be charged a fee

  • If you drive a van or truck, or if you transport large quantities of construction waste, a fee may apply

Some sites may demand proof of address within the council where you would like to dispose the items that you picked up, and some sites that we have a collaboration with may ask you to scan a QR-code from the app to get information that the items came from their region. The site is free to decide whether or not it accepts any waste movement as part of its operation.
