Short answer

There are ongoing fraud attempts where Tiptapp’s name is used in fake ads and messages on platforms such as Blocket, Facebook Marketplace and similar sites.
The goal is to trick sellers into giving away personal information or card details.
These scams happen outside of Tiptapp, but we work actively to inform users and reduce the risk of anyone being affected.

How to recognise a fraud attempt

You may, for example, be asked to:

  • fill in card details or other payment information in a form or via a link

  • verify yourself using BankID or another method

➡️ Never do this. Tiptapp will never ask for card numbers or payment details in connection with pickups from buy-and-sell services.

How it really works

If a buyer wants to use Tiptapp to pick up something you’re selling, you as the seller only need to provide:

  • the address where the item should be picked up

  • any pickup instructions

You do not need to fill out forms or provide card details.

If you suspect fraud

  • End the conversation immediately.

  • Report the incident to Tiptapp Support via the app or at support@tiptapp.se.

  • Also report it to the platform where the attempt occurred (e.g., Blocket or Facebook).

Important to know

Tiptapp is committed to user safety and takes fraud attempts very seriously.
We collaborate with other platforms, such as Blocket, to stop this type of malicious activity.
