Short answer

💡 If you, as a helper, accidentally damage something during a task – for example a piece of furniture, a wall or a floor – you should immediately inform the advertiser in the chat.
Transparency and quick communication are always the best way to resolve the situation.

What to do if you’ve damaged something

  1. Tell the advertiser right away
Message the advertiser in the chat as soon as it happens.
Explain calmly what occurred and take responsibility for the situation.
    Example:
“Hi! I accidentally scratched the door frame while carrying out the sofa. I’d really like to help solve this.”

  2. Document the damage
Take a few clear photos of the damage and the area where it happened.
These photos are important if the incident needs to be reported to insurance.

  3. Insurance case (if applicable)
If the advertiser purchased insurance via Omocom for the ad, the damage will be handled through them.

Note: If damage occurs, no payment is issued for the task unless you and the advertiser agree otherwise.

If there is no insurance – come to an agreement

If the advertiser hasn’t added insurance, the situation needs to be resolved between the two of you.
Tiptapp is a platform where private individuals help each other – we are not a legal party in your agreement.

If you reach a mutual agreement – for example a refund or an adjustment to the payment – we can help carry it out.
Contact the advertiser in the chat and get back to us once you both agree, and we’ll help you process it.

Tips

  • Measure doorways and plan your carrying path before you start.

  • Use blankets, tarps or protective materials during transport to avoid scratches.

  • If you’re unsure, lift together with someone – it reduces the risk of damage to both items and yourself.
