How does payment adjustment work?

In some cases, a job may turn out to be more extensive than stated in the ad. If this happens, the helper can suggest a higher payment directly in the app after arriving at the location.

Short answer

A helper may only adjust to a higher payment after arriving at the location if the assignment does not match the advertisement. This could be due to unexpected obstacles, things that were not mentioned in the ad, or extra work that has been added. As the advertiser, you always choose whether to approve or reject the proposal.

When is it okay to ask for a higher payment?

Proposals for adjusted payments are only permitted when there are valid grounds, for example:

  • items or services that were not included in the advertisement

  • things that were hidden or not visible in the pictures

  • additional work that was not included from the outset

  • unexpected circumstances that affect time consumption or work effort

If the advertisement corresponds to reality, no price discussion may take place.

How the process works in the app

In order to suggest a higher payment, the helper needs:

  • open the ad

  • indicate that they have arrived at the location

  • scroll down and select the option to suggest a higher payment

  • state the reason for the adjustment and attach supporting images

You can only send such a request after the helper has arrived at the location and before the pickup is marked as complete.

What happens if I reject the proposal?

If you decline a proposal for a higher payment, the assignment will be canceled immediately. A declined proposal is final.

If you cannot agree on the payment, the assignment must be terminated.

Important to know

  • Adjustments to higher payments can only be made once.

  • A higher payment may never be demanded without valid grounds.

  • All payments must always be made via the Tiptapp app.

  • It is never permitted to request or accept payment outside the platform.
