Short answer

If your IBAN number isn’t accepted when adding your bank account, it’s usually due to an incorrect format or because the account type isn’t supported by Stripe.
Double-check that the number is correct and that the account belongs to you personally.

What to do if your IBAN number doesn’t work

Check the format
A Swedish IBAN number always begins with SE followed by 20 digits.
Example: SE45 5000 0000 0583 9825 7466
Remove any spaces if you copied the number from your bank.

Enter the correct BIC/SWIFT code (if requested)
Most Swedish banks are recognised automatically by Stripe.
If you need to enter a BIC code, you’ll find it on your bank’s website.

Use your personal account
Stripe only accepts personal bank accounts in your own name — not joint accounts, accounts in someone else’s name, business accounts, or similar services.

If the problem continues
Check that the account is active and able to receive payouts.
Contact Tiptapp support directly in the app and include:

  • your name

  • your bank

  • the error message you see in the app

Tips

Copy the IBAN directly from your bank’s app or website to avoid typos.
If you’ve switched banks, remove the old account before adding the new one.
The easiest way to find your IBAN is by logging in to your online banking.
