Short answer
💡 When you select a helper, a temporary card reservation is made for the amount — but the money is only charged once you confirm that the ad is completed.
If the ad is cancelled or not carried out, the reservation is released automatically.
How card reservations work
Reservation when booking
When you choose a helper, the amount is reserved on your card by Tiptapp’s payment partner, Stripe.
The amount is locked but not charged — you don’t pay until the ad is completed.
If the ad is cancelled
If you or your helper taps Cancel, the reservation is automatically released.
How quickly the funds appear on your account depends on your bank — usually within 1–5 business days.
If the ad has started but not been completed
If the task has begun, you may need to contact Tiptapp Support via the app to help stop the payment.
When your helper marks an ad as completed, it will automatically close after 5 days if no issue has been reported.
If you have several reserved amounts
If your ad was cancelled and you select a new helper, a new reservation will be made for that helper.
It may look like multiple reservations have been placed, but no actual payment is processed until you confirm the completed task.
Important to know
Payment is only charged once the ad is confirmed as completed.
An ad automatically closes 5 days after the helper has started it.
If the reserved amount hasn’t been released after five business days, contact your bank first — then reach out to Tiptapp Support if the issue remains.
